Workforce seats are billed per provisioned employee per month. External users are billed only when they're active: a customer who doesn't authenticate in a month costs nothing that month.
You get the full product for 30 days without entering a card. When the trial ends, you continue on the usage-based rates shown on this page.
Yes, in your favor. Rates are banded by volume, so as your user count crosses into a higher band the per-user rate steps down. The bands above are the same ones billing uses.
Every tenant signs tokens with its own keys, encrypted at rest. The KMS option keeps a tenant's key non-exportable inside AWS KMS, billed per key: that's the signing-key line alongside the user bands.
